Join Mary Bourque Photography for an introductory workshop on dSLR Photography. Bring your camera and an open mind, and learn the basics of how your camera works and how to use it as a powerful memory-capturing tool in your everday life.
January 14, 2012
10am – 1pm
Wilmot, New Hampshire
Class Fee – $100 due at registration to reserve you seat.
Include snacks, handouts, private Facebook Group with post class discussions and critiques.
Topics include, but aren’t limited to -
- Using Your Camera’s Basic Settings
- Introduction to Exposure (ISO, Shutter Speed, Aperture).
- Lens Overview – What Lens Does What? What do Those Numbers Really Mean?
- Tips for Taking Better Photos of Your Kids, Dog, or Really Anyone
After the class, participate in a private Facebook group with other students. I will offer constructive critiques on up to 2 photos per week from each student for 4 weeks after the class, and interact with the group on a regular basis, answering questions posted on the group’s page.
This class is geared toward dSLR’s (cameras with interchangeable lenses). To get the most out of your investment in the workshop, you should already own a dSLR (or dSLR-like) camera. I do have an extra dSLR, if it is needed for someone to borrow during class time.
If you’ve been using your camera on “auto” or experimenting with the other modes on your camera, but not sure really what they mean, this class if for you. Heck, if you get a dSLR camera for Christmas, and haven’t even taken it out of the box, this class is for you.
If you know the ins/outs of your camera, and consistently get the shots you want, a more advanced class may be a better value for you. This class is for amateur photographers who want to improve their skills, so I won’t be talking about any aspect of my business.
